Journaling feathers:

1. Look carefully at the feather. Notice colors, the shape and patterns.

2. What attracted you to this feather. Write about it.

3. Draw a line from the bottom to the tip of the feather.

4. Add in the downy fluff at the lower end.

5. Lightly sketch in lines indicating the way the feather lie.

6. Add appropriate colors and markings.

7. Add your notes: whose feather is it? what part of the bird is it from?

8. Where did you find the feather? How did the feather get there?

9. Note: It is not legal to possess bird feathers, so please return the feather to where you found it
