Come journal with us!
Naturalists with Brushes (NWB) - Weekly sessions
GREETINGS!
So happy you are here. You have found a diverse group of very kind, supportive people who want to share the practice of nature journaling.
Every Sunday, opportunities and locations will be posted for the coming week. (look for the pine trees across the FB post)
We meet every Wed at 10:00 am MST in Missoula, every Tuesday at 10:00 am in Hamilton, the first Saturday morning of every month in Missoula and sometimes more often. You are encouraged to join us at one or more gatherings as your schedule allows. And it’s free!!
Also, keep checking this page for special events!
No skills or special materials required. Pen, paper and love of nature is all you really need. Ok, I confess, sometimes some of us like to buy fancy pens BUT they are not necessary.
Please feel free to contact us with questions. The only bad question is the one not asked. Just like the only bad journal entry is the one not made.
Please join us!
I'm so happy I've hooked up with this group. I feel like it's life changing for me, seriously. Starting with the people, everyone is so lovely, kind and generous. And sitting with Barb's mellow background jazz. It transforms me every week, completely removes me from thoughts outside of that room. I think that's what mediation is supposed to do. Highly refreshing.

As students of nature, we always seek something new and unknown. Go exploring!
As you sketch, practice the art of really seeing.
Nurture your curiosity by asking questions.
Get your nature experience onto paper by recording your exploration, observations, reactions and questions in your journal.
Prompt: This was fun so let's do it again! Field guides and nature books. Select one from your shelf. Randomly open the book to any page. Don't go browsing for a page you like.
Once you have opened to a page, sketch the plant or animal you see. Put your spin on the sketch - we are not trying to make photo copies of the image in the book. Next, take some of the really cool info from the book and write it on your page. Fun way to learn new things!
